For the ComplexLogicHD bot on Root. What it reads, what it keeps, and how to have it deleted.
Last updated: 7 November 2026
Who we are
The bot is developed by OtsoSoftware for the ComplexLogicHD community on the Root platform. It is listed in Root as ComplexLogicHD test bot and is meant to run in the ComplexLogicHD community only.
Operator and data controller: B-PARK s.r.o., Czech Republic, IČO 27289354, VAT ID CZ27289354, registered in the Commercial Register kept by the Regional Court in Ústí nad Labem, section C, insert 22788. Questions and requests: software@otso.city.
What the bot does
It shows Bible verses: when a message in a channel it can see contains a reference such as John 3:16, it replies with the text. It also answers a few commands (a random verse, a search, the verse of the day) and can post a verse of the day to a channel chosen by the community's administrators. The Bible text (King James Version) is public domain and stored inside the bot.
What data it handles
- Messages. Root delivers to the bot the messages posted in channels it has access to. The bot reads each one in memory to look for a Bible reference or a command, then discards it. Message content is not stored, logged or passed on.
- Root identifiers. Messages come with Root's internal IDs (author, channel, message). The bot uses them only to reply in the right place and, for administrative actions, to check whether the author holds an administrator role. They are not stored, except as noted under logs.
- Community settings. The bot stores its configuration for the community: which channel and at what time the verse of the day is posted, the time zone, and which role (if any) it mentions. These are channel and role IDs, not information about individual members.
- Technical logs. If something fails, the bot writes an error message to the developer log that Root provides. Such a message can contain a Root ID (for example the ID of a user whose permission check failed). It never contains message content. Only the developer can see this log, and Root removes older entries automatically.
The bot does not build profiles, track activity, show advertising, or sell or share data with anyone.
Where the data lives and who receives it
Root hosts and runs the bot on its own infrastructure, and the community settings are kept in the storage Root provides to the bot. Nothing is sent to OtsoSoftware's own servers or to any other third party. Root's handling of your account and messages is covered by Root's privacy policy.
How long it is kept
Messages are not kept at all. Community settings are kept until an administrator changes or removes them, or until the bot is removed from the community. Developer log entries are kept for as long as Root retains them.
Legal basis and your rights
Processing is based on legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): providing the features the ComplexLogicHD community asked for, while keeping as little data as possible. You can ask us at any time what data about you the bot holds, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. Write to software@otso.city; we answer within 30 days. You can also complain to the Czech data protection authority, Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů.
Changes
The bot may gain new features for the community later, such as announcing new videos or giving roles to supporters. Before any feature that stores new kinds of data goes live, this page will be updated to describe it, and the date above will change.
